More people involved

Well, we have more people involved with the wedding.

Playing the song during the lighting of the unity candle — Rebecca Bumgarner (if anyone knows of any good unity candle songs, please let us know!)

Running the reception — Lynn Bumgarner with assistance from Jennifer Bumgarner, Erika Garrison, and Mary Bethé Neely (if she accepts…we haven’t actually asked her yet!)

We are meeting with the photographer on January 6. We are meeting with the lady who is making our cake sometime after the new year. Jessica’s mom and sister are coming up to Kansas City over Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend to go dress shopping, flower shopping, groom’s ring shopping, bridesmaid dress shopping, etc.

Otherwise, that’s all the news from the wedding front.

Rehearsal Dinner

We’re going to have the rehearsal dinner at Zarda’s BBQ on 87th. Family and wedding party invited. I delegated this to my mom, so she’ll have to fill me in on the details before I can post them.

Reception

Menu for reception:

  • Punch
  • Cake
  • Nuts: peanuts and cashews
  • Little smokies
  • Dinner mints
  • Veggie tray, possibly

You’ll notice that all of these items (cake excluded) can be bought at Sam’s in extremely large quantities. We’re not getting a DJ, so we’ll have some nice music on the overhead. Seating arrangements will be chairs in circles so people can sit around and converse.

Engagement Pic

We headed over to the Garrison household Friday night.

The plan was to take some photos to send to newspapers, include with invitations (maybe), and just have for posterity.

Well, I had thought that a couple of pictures in front of the fireplace would suffice. I arrive to the Garrison household to:

* blue seamless paper background, held up by two tripods
* tripods holding model lights that are synchronized to the flash on the camera
* Dad Garrison with the large format camera

Anyway, we took a whole roll of pictures with the film camera. I had him take a couple with the digital just so I could post it easier.

Here’s the result, click for bigger:
